Okayama has been famous throughout the country as a rice-producing area since ancient times. At Yamamoto Seika, our arare (pellet-sized rice crackers) are made using only high-quality glutinous rice grown in Okayama and Akita Prefectures. In addition, the ingredients used with these are obtained from the sea, mountains and villages of Okayama. Our numerous exquisite items are made by expertly baking glutinous rice dough that has been steamed in traditional bamboo steamers and pounded with mallets. They are also perfect as minor gifts.
